Barat House Community - Irina

I enjoy being here in London very much. This is my first visit to Great Britain. I gratefully received this possibility to stay here before my journey to Rome to prepare for my perpetual vows. The stay here is also an occasion to know more deeply part of our congregation's history.

The experience of my vocation I imagine like a great adventure in the good sense of that word. All through my time in our Society I've been learning about our spirituality and the different cultures and mentalities of people. I believe that is a great richness for me. For example, I spent my initial formation in Poland where I stayed for five years. So I had the opportunity to know more deeply another part of slavic culture. I spent my next five years in Moscow where I worked as a secretary in the catechetical school in the parish.

And now I'm here for five months.

In Russia not many people belong to the Catholic Church. So that's why the "new" Russian Catholics are in need of "skills" to be Catholics in a country with other confessions and religions. So, I think that the mission of our Society is very important in my country. Our community in Moscow needs people who would have the courage and open heart to arrive there and proclaim the Love of Jesus' Heart.

If God wills it, I would like to return to my country to carry out our mission there, and I hope that the prayers of the sisters of our Society help ensure that vocations will appear in Russia.
