Bute Gardens has been my home for four years, though not my only incarnation in Hammersmith. My last teaching post was in our Primary School here and ended in 1981.

Since then, after working as an RE Adviser for the Diocese and as Pastoral Director in Allen Hall Seminary, I have been involved in spirituality and part time hospital chaplaincy and I continue doing ongoing spiritual direction from home. Bute Gardens is an ideal venue for this, being well-situated for public transport. Retreats and Weeks of Accompanied Prayer take me further afield and I especially enjoy being a visiting director at St. Beunos Jesuit Retreat Centre in North Wales. I find my spirituality ministry very life-giving.

Whilst the six RSCJ who live in Bute Gardens are not an established local community, I find that the informal contact I have with others living here includes mutual support, practical concern and genuine friendship, which I value.

Apart from contact with RSCJ friends, my sense of belonging to the community of the Province is enhanced by being a member of Wellsprings, a group of RSCJ who meet regularly to pray, reflect, enjoy a meal and relax together.
