As per a Society tradition started by St Madeleine Sophie, the eleven RSCJ who made their perpetual vows on 20th January received a name and devise (motto) from the Superior General, which will accompany them individually and as a group of professed religious. As far as possible, both name and devise reflect their experience, process and insights throughout their time of probation (preparation for final profession)
The group has been named Renewed by Love, renewed for Love with the devise Blessed is she who has believed that the promise made her by the Lord would be fulfilled (Lk 1:45)
In her conference Kathy Conan RSCJ reminded them that at the beginning of their probation they had been invited to contemplate anew the Heart of God. As they contemplated anew they became anew, became renewed, in their experience and conviction of being deeply loved, and their response in joy and gratitude is their commitment to be this love for others.
They have believed in Love, believed and trusted the One who is Love, and therein lies their happiness, the blessedness of she who has believed...
We pray for the newly professed in gratitude for their definitive commitments to God, in the Society... and our prayer accompanies them in the weeks ahead, as they return to their countries, and to their communities and ministries, that they may reveal God's renewing love to all they encounter.
And may we all, like them, know the joy and the call of being renewed by Love, for Love... and may we too know the happiness of one who has believed and lived into the promise, freedom and new life offered by God.
